Where sacred community gathers to embody love in action.

Gateway House, in conjunction with The Outer Edge, is a community-based ministry, with Kathleen Mandeville, an Episcopal priest, as its spiritual leader. We function as a community hub fostering creativity and mission-driven initiatives.

Who We Are

Gateway House is a sacred arts spiritual community, committed to fostering love in action celebrating our 7th year in 2025. In effect, we are an “outpost congregation” - offering many of the vital services of beloved community without the benefits and limitations of an institutional infrastructure. We continue to offer innovations that allow for a multifaith communion of the Divine. We gather in sacred community to support and actualize our mission as a community, and the gifts of individual members. Our events include ceremonies and performative arts, community networking, food, and fire, followed by performances on our Gateway House stage.

Why We Gather

These are times of global political turbulence and climate crisis, a period of cataclysmic upheaval, a threshold moment. We are in the midst of an inescapable, profound shift in the global world order, like nothing we have experienced in our lifetimes. How do we grapple with this? Yet, we are here and now for a reason. And it is imperative we reckon with our fears as we find our purpose.  In this way, we put on the armor of truth.

Those of us who can, must. And this is what calls our spirits to rise!

How would we live if we believed love was as strong as death? We are determined to live, holding fast to the deepest truths. Creating circles of community where we can lament, or shit in our pants, share our fears, take part in planning a protest, touch the Divine in nature, we must keep our communal life joyfully alive, together.

Ceremony

Centered around the Celtic Turn of the Wheel, we celebrate the Summer & Winter Solstices, Vernal & Autumnal Equinoxes as well as the Cross Quarter days of Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lammas, with Feast Days of Easter and others observed on occasion as well.

Performances

Following many of our Turn-of-the-Wheel Ceremonies, during our potluck we have community members take to the stage. At Gateway House, we function as an incubator for performers to show and offer new work as well as people who are beginning to think how to translate their creativity into performance.

Events & Programming

In addition to the Solstice/Equinox and Turn of the Wheel ceremonies, we engage in other initiatives such as:

Community Contributions

Gateway House is growing…

Gateway House was ‘planted’ during Covid as we continued to hold small outdoor gatherings with ceremony, fire & music to keep our community’s flame alive. Now we are growing, thriving!

Gateway House has the opportunity to sustain its future through your donations. Your support will enable people to connect to one another, the earth, and the spirit through innovative & participatory artistic expression, music, dance, ritual, and ceremonies.

Your contribution goes to fund infrastructure costs, program development and production staff for a year’s ongoing operation. We ask for your participation, financially & energetically.

Countless people have made a difference in this interweaving of generosity, talent and community. Your contributions have enabled our ongoing capacity to hold space for the depth of sacred arts that keep our inner and outer fires going.

We invite your support of Gateway House's mission, with gratitude for all who participate by offering their energy and talent. Join us in continuing to ‘water what is growing’ in our lives and the world.
