The Great Turning at the Labyrinth: Radical Prayers from Joanna Macy at Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, NM

The Great Turning at The Agape Center & Labyrinth: Radical Prayers from Joanna Macy

Thursday, June 11, 2026 | 6:30pm - 9pm

at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NY

Facilitated by Kathleen Mandeville during her chaplain residency at Ghost Ranch.

In a time of ecological unraveling, social fragmentation, and collective grief, how do we remain fully present to the world?

As we approach the 1 year anniversary of one of the great teachers of our time, Joanna Macy, we remember her profound lessons of gratitude, healing, prayer, action, and radical acceptance. She was an environmental activist, Buddhist scholar, eco philosopher, and founder of the Work That Reconnects, a body of practices that helps people respond to ecological crises through community, spiritual resilience, and collective action. Her work weaves together systems theory, deep ecology, ritual, grief work, and social transformation. Macy describes “The Great Turning” as the essential transition from an industrial growth society toward a life sustaining civilization rooted in interconnection, compassion, and ecological balance.

Set within the powerful landscape of Ghost Ranch, participants walk the labyrinth as a contemplative spiral pilgrimage through the Four Dimensions of the Great Turning:

  • Experience the subtle field of Family Constellations in an intimate, symbolic way

  • Learn to create personal object altars as portals of remembrance and resonance

  • Participate in ritual, guided constellations, and deep intuitive listening

  • Reconnect with ancestral gifts, patterns, and inner alignments ready to unfold

About the Facilitator

Kathleen Mandeville

The Rev. Kathleen Mandeville is an Episcopal priest, founder/director of IgniVox, a production company dedicated to spiritual, regional, and environmental witness through the arts, facilitator of Kaledeiscopic Constellations, founder of The Outer Edge Coaching, and spiritual leader of Gateway House, a multi-faith sacred arts community in the Hudson River Valley, NY.

In her 45 years of service, Kathleen has worked with a wide variety of individuals and groups in numerous settings, including hospitals, prisons, low income housing, college campuses, and public arts arenas. She currently facilitates ceremonies and workshops, serves as a supply preacher at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in New Paltz, NY, and offers individual and group counseling.

Kathleen is a deep lover of the desert, a landscape where her heart feels truly home. During her Ghost Ranch Chaplaincy, she offers pastoral guidance, ritual expression and one-on-one Constellation sessions. Inspired by the rich indigenous culture, archeological history, and artistic heritage of Ghost Ranch, she calls her work while in residency here The Hollow Bone, a practice of intuitive listening for what is alive.

You can find Kathleen at the Chaplain’s Picnic table outdoors in front of the Dining Hall after lunch, most days during her two week stay, between 1:30- 2:30pm, where she is available for counsel and conversation, or contact via her cell 845-417-5430.
